Jeanette Berry
Born and raised in the Suburbs of New York City to artistic post hippy parents, Jeanette has always had an open mind and a love for art. While attending The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, as a Vocal Jazz Major, Jeanette began to work with several different bands performing professionally around the city and tri-state. With influences ranging from Blues to Musical Theater, Rock to Jazz, Jeanette tries to take her technical training and turn it into the music that lives in her soul. “I am a musician, first and foremost”, she says about herself. “Never wanting to be classified through genre, I try and take all the music I love and turn it into something original that other people can identify with and love for themselves.” For the past 3 years Jeanette has been a member of the Voices of the Pops, a vocal group that works with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops each season. Jeanette has begun work on a solo project, Jeanette Berry and the Soul Nerds, which features original music and some of the brightest musical talent Philadelphia has to offer. Jeanette also keeps music alive by teaching with the CODA Program and privately, teaching students young and old, the responsibility, honesty and discipline necessary to be creative and successful as a vocal artist and musician.
